Where do I register for the Tournament?
Registration is $50 and limited to 64 players. Once spots are filled, registration will close.
Can I observe the Tournament?
Yes! The event is FREE to attend with RSVP. Outside of the tournament there will be mahjong tables for casual play and a Hennessy karaoke room!
What style of Mahjong will be used?
We will be playing Taiwanese 16-tile Mahjong using a no-points format. Instead of tracking scores, the first player at each table to win two games advances to the next round. This format keeps gameplay fast and competitive. With clear progression the tournament will focus on strategy, momentum, and strong play rather than point calculations.
When is the latest I can sign up?
If registration sells out, a waitlist will open.
Is this gambling or illegal?
No. This is a skill-based mahjong tournament focused on community and friendly competition. The cash prize is provided by East Never Loses and is not derived from player entry fees. Tournament tickets are used to confirm participation and cover event staffing and operations.

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE
ROUND 1 - Elimination Round (1 Hour)
- The tournament commences with 64 contestants across 16 tables
- Whoever rolls the highest dice will be EAST wind
- The first player to reach 2 wins from each table will advance to the next round
ROUND 2 - Semifinals (1 hour)
- The 16 remaining contestants engage in the semifinals across 4 tables
- The first player to reach 2 wins from each table will advance to the next round
ROUND 3 - Championship (1 hour)
- The 4 semifinalists enter the championship round, ready for the ultimate showdown.
- The first player to reach 2 wins becomes the Mahjong Champion
